LOVESICK III - Artefacture gets sexy this Valentines Day

Happy belated New Year. The fashion show circuit is live and well in San Francisco, often fractalizing into new forms like this event put on by friend and fashion designer Alexandria Von Bromssen. We recommend skipping the candlelight dinner and heading over to Mighty for a night of fashion and dance in Cupid's hot kitchen. We'll be there with our great tees, now in very limited supply!

From the site:

If you can’t cure the sickness, treat the symptoms this February 14th at Mighty. You won’t find a cure for your broken heart, however, if you drag yourself over to 119 Utah Street at 7p.m. you will find a plethora of palliative pleasantries.

Dec 5th, next t-shirt selling event in San Francisco

As this remarkable decade comes to a close it brings with it the 5th year of our t-shirt experiment and we are humbled by all of the support you have shown over the years. There is definitely much to give thanks for.

To that end, we're going to have a great sale at the upcoming Chillin' Productions event. But it's not just about cutting deals for cool tees, but rather a celebration of our values and common vision. We hope you can join us!

On Saturday, the 26th, we'll be at Summerland, a new event taking place at Mint Plaza. Come on by and enjoy the bands and the great vibe. Of course, we'll have plenty of Artefacture t-shirts for sale.

Donation to Oke-Odan Childrens' Charity helps fundraising effort in African village

Last spring we donated a bunch of t-shirts to the Oke-Odan Children's Charity in Nigeria, Africa. To say thanks, the Oke-Odan children created a poster that we've posted below.

The donated t-shirts where used in a raffle held on May 26, 2009, called, "The 2009 Scholarship Raffle Draws". Proceeds went to the parents of the children in need to help pay for school tuition and to purchase textbooks and other school supplies. Artefacture shirts and other donations such as toys and sports items were raffled off in the fundraiser.

The event was sponsored by the Association of Overseas Oke-Odan based in Chicago, IL.

We're proud to have been able to participate in this great cause - best of luck to those great kids!

New line, new logo, new site, oh my!

Thanks for coming by, you're looking at the all new Artefacture!

After four years since our venture debuted, we felt it was a good time to not only update our look, but to strongly position ourselves as what we are: A graphic art studio and progressive streetwear label. Sound good?

And we're quite pleased to announce the release of our new mid-summer '09 t-shirt line, which I'm sure you've taken a peek at already. The six new graphic tees are printed on Artefacture’s new “E+ ” t-shirts.

The E+ t-shirts are silky-soft, high-quality shirts made in the USA from sustainably produced global organic textile standard Indian cotton. I love all these new designs - especially Geomatiks C and Yesman - how about you?

My brother and cofounder/designer Andreu Osika says, “This new line continues to reflect Artefacture’s bold yet refined graphic aesthetic. This positive step, in addition to our polished makeover, puts us on strong footing to grow and differentiate ourselves.”

“We’ll use this momentum to eventually expand our offering to include additional apparel items for both men and women,” he added when we discussed the relaunch.

The new logo reflects the progressive/forward-thinking aspect of the brand. And once the conceptual art is appreciated, factoring in the "green" component and using high-quality materials are definitely a part of it.

As for the site, we feel that using black conveys a sophistication and elegance that also creates a nice contrast with the color-infused products.

Speaking of the site, please check out the pages, the summer collection, and send me a note (chris@artefacture.com) with any feedback or site bugs, and thanks for all your support!

Artefacture to speak at 'The Economics of Art' event

Howdy Artefans, I'll be on a panel in a few weeks alongside friends talking about the business of fashion in today's environment. It's going to be a great event. More info:

For Immediate Release

June 1, 2009

The Economics of Art is a San Francisco Fashion Entrepreneur speaker series featuring Christopher Jablonski / Artefacture, Jennifer Lynne / Porcelynne, Jasmin Zorlu / Hat Designer, Scatha Allison / Fashion Designer and Yetunde Schuhmann / Executive Director of Innovative Fashion Council of San Francisco.

Our mission is to have an open dialogue to engage in a Forum to scrutinize the idea of ' The Economics of Art.' This series will focus on how to be smart, be practical and be useful on how to bring up solutions during an economic downturn by means of being creative.

San Francisco is an epicenter of Creative Talents and we would like to hear what our local creatives have to say about small business solutions.

From this series, we will learn from the speakers, their current projects, their creative modules and simply, how to create a network exchange amongst our peers in the San Francisco's fashion and art community.

Please join us on June 18th, Thursday Evening at Project One Gallery at 251 Rhode Island Street, San Francisco, CA 94013, a plush-positive modern venue two blocks from the San Francisco Design Center.

The evening also includes a Fashion Exhibit and a Runway Show featuring Carly Mikkelsen, Jamie Cole, and Julia Meeks. All from the Academy of Arts and San Francisco State University.

This event will be benefiting the upcoming San Francisco Fashion Awards, a summer event extravaganza.

Fast forward about two weeks after the Union Design Festival next Sunday (May 31st) in the city's epicenter of dopeness, Hayes Valley, and the Artefacture team will be yet at another SF event.

On June 13th, we'll be at Chillin' Productions offering uber deals on shirts that'll be priced to move as we get ready to launch our new line. So take your pick, Union is daytime, outdoor, and free to the public, whereas Chillin' is more of a clubby nightlife vibe and intimate. Think vodka cranberries versus lattes.
